OKAY ! Let me share
FIRST thing to do :
- Find oc software for increase VOLT GPU ( 4890 ) in this case
Download :
http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/1383/mirrors.php
after that… open it,
Go to Voltage TAB, then show :
VDDC = V gpu 1.3125 by default
??? = V RAM ( i think ), don’t touch this ! not recommend….as we know better OC GPU than MEM in ATI..
My RIG :
-e84 @ 4 GH
-4890
-4 GB kit FSB 5/5/5/12 ( 5 : 4 )
-CORSAIR TX-850W

First off I would like to say, my name is Jason Jones and I’ve been involved with PC hardware for the past six or seven years, I’ve seen the AMD Althon XP’s come and embarrass the Intel offerings.
I’ve seen the Athlon 64’s come and embarrass the Intel Pentium D’s, and so on so fourth. Then the transitions from DDR to DDR2 and now as the processors and mainboards are evolving to DDR3.
However the graphics card battles throughout the years and what happening now...

In this entry Simon Solotko brings you up-to-date on his digital nexus hypothesis, a vision for the evolution of the PC into a central computer. Two recent innovations, ATI Eyefinity and the first demonstrations of Intel Light Peak have convinced him that this hypothesis may be moving from potentiality to innevitablity. Yes, Simon is the guy in all of those overclocking videos and has been a driving force behind AMD64 technology, overclocking, and now this…

I was looking for a detailed review of these CPU’s and you guessed it!! If you want a good one then do it yourself! All of the reviews out there were good enough and well done but, for some of us, that does not cut it.
The two premises I am focusing on are max (reasonable) overclock for the gamer and undervolting at stock speed for the HTPE\HEPC.
A WARNING: BIOS, BIOS, BIOS!!! do not assume you need to update, and if you do be prepared to revert. When I first installed this CPU I did not u...

I thought i would share with you all my latest endevor in pc cooling or perhaps as my wife would say pc tomfoolery. I enjoy pc’s as a hobby not as a profession so I may not be extreme but maybe just creative. As you all know cpu’s, especially quad cores run a little warm. When overclocked they run HOT. So how do you solve that problem. Well theres air cooling, thats ok for stock speeds. not so good for overclocking. You can try the cold air trick but thats a little tough when its su...

For my first blog, I am going to write about my latest overclocking endeavor. Eager to snatch some more hardware points over at HWBot, I decided to take a Celeron 450 for a spin. I first tried it in my Asus Rampage Extreme but as I have discovered in the past, these boards dont play nice with 200Mhz FSB CPU’s. So I swapped to a Gigabyte P45-UD3R, and I was all set to go. Cooling was accomplished via a TRUE 120 coupled with a Sanyo Denkai 220 CFM Monster Fan (a cool night and an o...

Introduction
Looking for a new heat sink in the current market is quite a job. There are a plethora of them available in all shapes and sizes and in every single price bracket that you can think of. Getting a cooler with the right price to performance ratio is even more difficult, specially when you add your requirements to that ratio. So we have people who just require a quiet cooler, to those who don’t mind their computers sounding like a jet at take off as long as the cooler can get t...

Components
The longevity of your computer components varies wildly, with the most expensive pieces often being a top performer for the shortest period of time. In order from longest lasting to shortest Hard Disk Drive/ Optical Disk Drive, Power Supply Unit, Video card, Memory, Motherboard, CPU. This breakdown is purely subjective, and while easily could instigate discussion on what pieces do have the longest longevity citing specific models of components, for brevity’s sake we will continu...

The Peripherals
Monitors, come in 2 distinct flavors, CRT (not manufactured anymore) and LCD. The difference between CRT and LCD is dramatic, with vivid colors and crisp geometries on LCD, higher resolution and better contrast on CRT. LCD’s can be upgraded very cheaply now, CRT has no upgrade path, it is only mentioned if the upgrade inventory currently has a high resolution or widescreen CRT monitor, it may be reused rather effectively until the size and power requirements effect the end ...

Identifying your needs, wants and haves.
The first step of upgrading a PC is identifying the specific functions that a PC is going to need to handle at the final build. This may change depending on your build upgrade timeline, as newer architecture is being released, and unanticipated price drops occur. Spending a few minutes a day reading about upcoming hardware releases helps to predict price drops on components as well as identifying features that you may want to add. OEM PCs make their...

It has been awhile since I had last visited Chew* (Brian from now on) down at his lab in Providence, RI. I decided to make the short trip yesterday for an attempt to break some records on a few chips with LN2. Unfortunately, Brian’s local LN2 peddler happened to drop the ball and did not have his 30l ready for him, so instead we decided to go grab some dice and just have a little fun.
The settings was like this… Brian essentially had a board ready to go, all insulated. We got...

The Piecemeal Upgrade part 1
One cannot help be impressed with the gaming power of a new socket AM3 system from AMD, or the sheer computational power of an Intel i7 and even i5 system. Comparing them to an OEM system build from just a couple of years ago can be embarrassing. Running software designed today, may not even be possible on an older system, and if it does run, could experience all sorts of performance problems: Stuttering video on HD playback, freezing, crashing or overheating o...

So instead of playing with ln2 like I intended to yesterday. I decided to take my iPhone to the apple store and see if they can do anything about a stuck pixel on my screen. It was there for about a week now, I did some self diagnostics to try and fix it but didnt work. It wasn’t anything major, didn’t really bother me a whole lot since it’s on the lower right hand corner of the phone.
But anyway, I went online and booked a appointment with the guys at the “Genius barR...

INTRODUCTION
Hello and welcome to the review of the ASUS CROSSHAIR III FORMULA motherboard.
I was thinking about doing a new review for a while, and it struck me that a number of us have picked up new AM3 CPU’s over the last couple of months with the 550 BE being one of the favorites.
Today, there is barely any competition for the 550 BE at that price point (especially when unlocked) and it is quickly becoming one of the best VFM processors that one can buy. Keeping this in mind, and look...
