This morning we had a small little package show up. Once we got around the allotment of wrapping paper, we found an Evo-G Mouse Anchor. Evo-G is a short way to say Evolution Gaming Gear, which is the company that makes this product. Then we found the camera and it was picture taking time! As you can see this comes in a nice compact package. On the back they printed the description, features, and specs along with a quick, 4 picture, ‘how to use’ guide.

Once we got it out of its package, we were surprised at how sturdy this Evo-G really was. With the pictures above, you can see how the Evo-G looks while it is locked down and open, waiting on the cord of your choice to be anchored.

Inserting the cord you want to anchor is about as simple as it gets. The Evo-G comes with 2 notches where you insert both ends of the cord in order to help further the anchoring of the cord.

Once your cord is in the locked/anchored position, it will not be going anywhere! The locking mechanism felt very solid to the touch. There are some things that you feel and you know it has no chance of surviving long, well this is not one of them. It also has a powerful spring underneath  to help push the cord out if you wanted to change wires.  You will not have to dig around trying to pry it open yourself because this spring shoots the inserted cord right up.

Now you may be thinking, “Well that locks nicely, but how does it actually stay in one spot and hold your cord?” That is easy enough to answer with the following couple of pictures below:

With this perfectly cut rubber pad on the bottom of the Evo-G, it helps keep the whole unit in one spot. That is, unless you get wild and crazy one night gaming and decide to throw your mouse or keyboard across the room, and then it will gladly accompany that item as well. With the nice rubber pad on the bottom, you also do not have to worry about this anchor scratching your desk all to pieces if it does somehow get moved.

Final Thoughts:

Overall, the Evo-G exceeded our expectations of what a mouse anchor really is. The top quality craftsmanship is easily noticeable with this unit. The black anodized paint job will also make this a stylish piece for your desk and not a complete eye sore. The solid weight of the Evo-G also makes it capable of staying in one spot. This product would be beneficial if you have those pesky mouse cords or even worse, the keyboard wire, that dangles around your feet. Evolution Gaming Gear has a winner with this stylish cable management system that it is compact and heavy duty. It will help clean up space at your desk and it looks great while sitting there!
