Next up in our line of on-the-go technology that we have been bringing you as of late, we have yet another addition. The Choiix Power Fort is a great looking product with a small and slim design; perfect for the on-the-go person. This portable battery charger has charged everything we threw at it: phones, laptops, portable game devices, etc. So far, with all of the options for charging a variety of devices, the Power Fort shows big promise. Now, will it live up to our expectations? Continue reading…

Packaging:

Specifications & Features:

The Choiix Power Fort:

In the pictures above, you can see the only three parts that you will need to know about on the Power Fort. The picture on the left shows the power button and the picture on the right shows the “in” and “out” connections. This is very simple and easy to understand for quick use.

When we flip it over, you will notice there is nothing else button-wise with the Power Fort. In the picture on the right, you will see the flashlight option. The flashlight is controlled by a few clicks of the “power” button to turn it on and off.

Usage:

Charging is very simple with the Power Fort. All you need to do is find the corresponding cord that comes with the package which fits the device you are looking to charge. You have two options of how to charge your electronic devices. The first option is on the left in the picture above, this option can be used anywhere or anytime.  Just plug your device into the Power Fort and you are set to go. The second option is actually kind of neat. You can hook a compatible device into the Power Fort and then into a laptop or desktop to charge the item instead of just using the Power Fort to charge it.

We have now examined how the Power Fort works with our electronic devices. We tested our Blackberry and, as you can see, it charges it just fine. We simply connected them together and voila…our phone now has a full battery. You can also get a good idea of the size of the Power Fort by seeing it alongside our Blackberry.

The flashlight is ample for lighting up what you would need to see. It won’t replace a conventional flashlight, but it still does a good job. It would come in very handy looking under a desk for a cable or plug when it is dark.

With the pictures and charts above, you will be able to tell just how much battery life or charging capacity is left in the Power Fort. This is a terrific system, and it flows really well with the design of the Power Fort. The blue lights also look great with our model of the Power Fort.

Using the wall connection option is very simple. All you need to do is slide in the correct connector, and when you are finished, just push the button in the middle and the connector will pop out. Once again, this is very simple and easy to use. The Power Fort comes with four different wall connections and one power connection for your car.

Storage:

You can see the dramatic “before” and “after” pictures with the complete set. The Choiix storage bags come in very handy as well, and the Power Fort gets it’s own bag (right), as well as all of the accessories (left). Together they still do not take up much room and will stow away in any computer bag or book bag with ease.

Conclusion:

As people start carrying around their electronic devices with them more and more, devices like the Power Fort quickly become very handy. We have enjoyed using the Choiix Power Fort during the review, and being able to charge a vast majority of electronic devices really helps the Power Fort sit at the top of it’s class in our opinion. The small, streamlined design helps keep it manageable and an actual option to use while on-the-go. Nobody wants to carry around a UPS just to recharge a battery.

The Choiix Power Fort will be taken wherever we drag our laptops. If we go on a trip, we will make sure to have it handy for charging our cameras, cellphones and iPod’s. This is also great device to help keep the kids’ Sony PSP or Nintendo DS battery charged and ready to game on a long car ride. Parents will also love the silence of the Power Fort.  Plus, with as easily as it stores, this device can fit almost anywhere. The Power Fort should make it close to the top of most tech consumer’s buying lists, and we would gladly recommend this product to our friends; especially those who travel a lot.

Why would you possibly need this extra piece of gear for all USB devices?
