Accessories
The ASUS Rampage III Extreme comes with a ton of accessories. ASUS really went the extra mile to make this the full package, with inclusions of cable ties to keep your build neat, cable labels, thermal sensors, and a huge ROG sticker.
The first really interesting accessory we see is the ROG connect cable, a USB cable to overclock the motherboard from a second computer.
The next accessory is the ProbeIt cable set. This cable allows you to monitor voltages easily right off the motherboard using a digital multimeter.
The final interesting accessory is the RC Bluetooth card. This Bluetooth card allows you to connect to the motherboard and overclock it via Bluetooth on your Android, iOS, or Windows Mobile OS device.
Included Software
The first piece of software we took a look at was the ROG Connect software. The software was very easy to use and is very robust. It will allow you to start/shutdown, reset, and even clear the CMOS. Not only that, but with the RC Poster part of the software you are able to monitor the process of the machine’s posting either by using an easily understandable string or the traditional post code. Most importantly it allows you to overclock including voltage changes. Once you have your overclock dialed in, it even allows you to save a profile for later use. Next you are able to monitor temperatures, voltages and RPMs of fans. Not only that, it allows you to graph the voltages and even the CPU current draw. Finally it allows you to remotely update the bios while the machine is off. To see ROG Connect in action, see the video below:
Next we move onto the RC Bluetooth which is basically a slimmed down version of ROG Connect only for your iOS, Android, or Windows Mobile OS device. It connects using a Bluetooth module on the motherboard and the Bluetooth in your device. Although it does not allow for the bios update or the graphs, it does allow for all of the other functions. We did notice that it lags slightly with the monitor voltages, frequencies, and RPMs but that is to be expected since it is over Bluetooth. To see the RC Bluetooth in action on an Android device, check out this next video below:
If ROG Connect and RC Bluetooth aren’t for you, have no fear, ASUS includes the TurboV EVO utility to do your overclocking from Windows. It allows for all of the same overclocking settings, voltage controls and even profiles.
ASUS also includes a free copy of 3DMark Vantage Advanced edition!
BIOS
ASUS has always been known to have a fairly rock solid bios, and the Rampage III Extreme is no exception. It has a ton of great overclocking features, including 2D Performance Booster for best performance while running 2D applications. The bios is easy enough for a beginner to understand and has all of the features to allow overclockers to push the hardware to its limits. To see the bios layout and features we created a simple walk-through video below.

This motherboard is the best for the price! It has most features compare to the other top brand motherboards out there. I will buy one of these.
