Taking a look at the average FPS of our Crysis Warhead tests, we found that the results were almost identical. The 11.1 drivers seemed to barely lead the way on each resolution we tested. With no more than a 1 to 2 FPS difference in the average all three drivers in the four tests ran, we can say that all the drivers are basically the same performance wise. This is not good news for the 6970, because the 10.12 review showed the 6970 getting dominated by other cards in it’s class and if the 11.1 drivers are no better, than the 6970 is in for a serious hurting.
In our Metro 2033 tests, the 10.12 and 11.1a had a big battle for last place. The 11.1 drivers did seem to shine through in this test with the average FPS results. They were the clear leader and an average of 16.25% performance gain over the 10.12 drivers, which we were hoping to see in all of our tests. On the other hand, the 11.1a drivers were still a let down, and honestly, we do not know why you would use them as their performance was less than that of the 11.1 WHQL in our testing.
