Conclusion
At the beginning of this review we asked is the Gamer Power BTS 11 worth the asking price of $999.00? Our answer is an unqualified “yes.”
Even though in some of our game tests the rig seemed to struggle to give us playable frame rates, overall, we feel the system is a pretty good gaming system, especially considering the price. This fact is even more reinforced with our tests of Crysis 2, and Battlefield Bad Company 2. Keep in mind, you have the option of upgrading to a more powerful card (including Crossfire or SLI) if you wish.
Some might say, “Hey, I could build a rig similar, or better, for a lot less.” In actuality, while doing a price comparison via Newegg with the different components the system comes with, including the operating system — some parts we couldn’t find to include in the price comparison, like the Xion 700W PSU, the actual RAM, and iBuyPower’s water cooling solution, so similar parts were priced out instead — we found that it would cost about the same as what iBuyPower is offering the BTS 11 for.
Given the fact iBuyPower could have easily offered an Intel i5 2500 processor which has a locked multiplier, instead of an Intel i5 2500k, whose multiplier is unlocked, and shipped the box overclocked to 4.1GHZ, as well as includes (and installs) their own water cooling solution for the CPU, provides a very good case, and has a three year warranty on the entire system, not to mention the effort they seem to have put in to the packaging of the rig itself, we have zero problems giving the iBuyPower Gamer Power BTS 11 the TechREACTION.net Gold Silicon Award.
