[Review] Thermaltake Chaser MK-I

The Thermaltake Chaser MK-I:

The sky blue accents built into the Chaser MK-I are very noticeable once you get it out of the box. It is not overwhelming, which is a good thing, so hopefully they will keep it to subtle hints of blue throughout the case, and we will be good. The front panel has nice sharp edges, and it reminded us of a Transformer (the robots, not the ones on a utility pole), in a way. The bay drives and intake fan are covered with mesh to help the Chaser MK-I bring in fresh air.

The side panel continues with the overall look by adding sharp lines to mold the look of the side. It also sports an optional 200mm intake fan, if you feel the need for extra cooling, and a clip to hang your headphones on for easy access and to keep your desk clean and clear.

The back panel looks somewhat basic with the three pre-cut holes for routing your wires and tubing in and out of the case. Thermaltake has also added a 140mm fan for exhaust to help alleviate stagnate hot air to keep the case as cool as possible.

The top of the case continues with the Transformer look with the three-tier look, which keeps this case from being anything but plain. The sky blue makes another appearance in the two stripes toward the back of the case, another subtle attack. The I/O area consists of two USB 3.0 (internal header), two USB 2.0, and one e-SATA port. On the other side, there are buttons to control the fan LEDs & speeds, along with a reset button and audio ports. Front and center, right behind the power button and a tribal-esque surround, is the HDD docking station, which supports 2.5″ and 3.5″ hard drives. The fan controller will manage the two 200mm fans provided by Thermaltake, but nothing else, which seems a little strange to us.

The case’s swing-out feet elevate the whole system enough to prevent your rug or other soft flooring from blocking the air intake/exhaust found on the bottom of the case. Yes, even the feet of the case cannot escape the sky blue wrath, and neither can the HDD sliders.

I own one of these cases its ok but there are a coupple of things I dont like firstly every panel comes off (for cleaning purposes ) which makes picking it up/ moving it a problem , and secoundly the front slot covers if you bump them they pop inwards which annoys the hell out of me
