Installing the GELID Icy Vision Revision 2
The Gelid Icy Vision Power Connector is a standard 4 pin; in the case of the 6950, no modifications were required to power it.
Once the stock cooler was removed, it became apparent how heavy the it is, especially relative to the Icy Vision.
The RAMsinks provided with the Icy Vision Rev. 2 are straightforward to install. Installing the RAMsinks can be frustrating for people with large fingers, but with some persistence (and maybe some tweezers or needle-nosed pliers), it is a more or less painless process.
Installing the VRAM Heatsink could be accomplished on the 6950 without removing the stock backplate.
The contact area of the GELID Icy Vision Rev 2. is nicely milled. The retention bracket around the contact area is a finger print magnet, luckily it is the only part of the cooler with this problem.
Once the GELID Icy Vision Rev. 2 is mounted, it is quite the looker. The downside to the beautiful cooler is its height. With the mounted 90mm fans, the heatsink slightly exceeds the width of 2 PCI slots. This can be a problem for many configurations, especially if you’re looking at a multi-GPU rig, running three video cards might be untenable.

Hey Lee,
We used the VRM Heatsink included with the GeLid Icy Vision Rev. 2.
In the rear packaging photo (http://www.techreaction.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Package-Gelid-back.jpg) you can see the VRM heatsink used.
Let me know if that answered your question!
So did you guys use the vrm heatsink that came with the icy or did you use the vrm heatsink from the enhancement kit? You mentioned the 6900 series needs the enhancement kit but you didn’t mention in the review if you used the kit.
