[Review] Cooler Master Storm Trooper

Air Flow:

The modular HDD bays provide two 120mm fans for intake, which will help bring in fresh air over your hard drives while cooling your system.

The top has a massive 200mm fan to exhaust the excess hot air from the Trooper, and the back panel sports one 120mm fan to help in alleviating the heat.

The side panel allows for two optional 120mm fans to bring in fresh air directly onto your motherboard and PCI cards to help keep them all cool.

LED Lighting:

The red LED front fans and the red LED fan controller help the Trooper to easily differentiate itself from the pack.  It helps bring the whole amazing package together as that one last feature that just looks great!

Conclusion:

Overall, the CM Storm Trooper went above and beyond our expectations. The X-Dock on the front of the case was a superb addition for people who want quick and easy access to their 2.5″ drives. The fan controller on top with the red LED colors looks great, along with the addition of 2 USB3.0 connections to help keep the Trooper up-to-date with the latest devices. The carrying handle was also a pleasant surprise to us and makes moving this beast around a lot easier. Although with this case fully loaded, it will still be a task in itself to move, because of the sheer weight and size, even with the padded  handle. The wire management on the Trooper is very well done, and we loved the massive pre-cut hole for all the extra PSU wires to fit through.

Installation, in general, was simple and easy with the tool-free design. The HDD cages are the only thing that will slow you down, because of all the options you will have with them. The dust filters were first class.  They remind us of the Silverstone TJ11 filters used, which are great! We really had no complaints at all on the CM Trooper, with the exception of the lack of side dust filters.  However,  since those fans are optional, we cannot get too upset by that.

Even with the hefty price tag of $189.99 (at the time of this review) we have no problem at all recommending this case to anyone out there looking for something first class and who wants something built to last.

The CM Storm Trooper receives the Techreaction.net Gold Silicon Award!

Great Review their Duke!!! I love the New CM Storm Trooper case… As Mr. Enigma stated, a lot of the
configurations for this case as well as the name ‘TROOPER’ was being discussed in the CMSSC Club.
As we use to say; ‘They are listening!’…. This case is the proof + a 2.7 million viewed, 24,230 post thread!!!
