- FF = 2X Stock Fan, CF12S25SH12A 2600rpm fans
- GT = 2X Gentle Typhoon D1225C12V5AP-15 1850RPM fans
- SA = 2X San Ace Fans 2600RPM fans
Without further ado, here are the test results. The average values are calculated out of all three test runs per fan, and per configuration.
Average Idle / Load Temperatures at 2.8 GHz
Average Idle / Load Temperatures at 3.6 GHz
Average Idle / Load Temperatures at 4.0 GHz
It should be noted that Corsair really hit a sweet spot with their fan selection on the H100, Our San Ace fans are monsters and quite noisy. The Gentle Typhoon fans are quiet and result in higher temperatures than the stock, while making less noise than the pump which you hear. The fans Corsair choose are about the same noise level as the pump, resulting in the best noise/performance ratio.
Average Test Temp @ 2.8 GHz
At 2.8Ghz/1.15V the H100 cooled the i7 920 with ease.
Average Test Temp @ 3.6 GHz
At 3.6Ghz/1.3V we can see a definite increase in temperature but no throtteling occurs.
Average Test Temp @ 4.0 GHz
At 4.0Ghz/1.4V the Corsair H100 performed with flying colors. The Average Temp Chart shows our i7 920 never tops out as far as temperature.
Delta T / Temp over Ambient @ 2.8 GHz
Delta T / Temp over Ambient @ 3.6 GHz
Delta T / Temp over Ambient @ 4.0 GHz
As you can see in our tests the Corsair H100 is well-equipped to handle all of our benchmark tests!
CPU Throttle Summary
The Corsair H100 Throttle Summary is exactly as expected, the temperature never topped out, so the i7 920 never throttled.
