Overclocking

Choosing to break away from standard testing so that one could get a much better idea where this card actually stood in comparison with other cards spanning various setups it was decided to use HWBot for some real comparative testing. Doing this allows one to see where this card really stands in comparison to the competition.  A link will be provided after all applicable tests to the HWBot scores so that other cards and systems in the performance range can be gauged.  The awards are not the purpose of using HWBot but having access to the huge database is. If there is any problem navigating the HWBot, please let me know. I will be glad to help.

The AMD Overdrive application included with catalyst suite worked great but I had to try the ASUS software and I was not dis-satisfied and after testing basic clocking ability and range using many benchmarking suites to reach a level of stability; a maximum acceptable OC was achieved. Tweaking from there some points were earned at the Bot.

3DMark11 X   Gold Cup

3DMark 2001SE  Medal

Heaven DX11 HW Bot  Gold Cup

Heaven DX9 HW Bot  Silver Cup

And a couple not shown:

3DMark11 E  Gold Cup

3DMaek11 P  Gold Cup

All things considered this is a fun card to clock. Speeds ramped very well with the included ASUS software and the results scaled better than were expected. I suspect it was some magic sauce from ASUS. If the link with the cup\medal is clicked you will see on the far right other video cards that had similar scores to this card.

Next: Conclusion
