This week TechREACTION reviews the ASUS P8H67-I Deluxe mini-ITX form factor motherboard for socket 1155 Intel CPUs. Based on the H67 chipset from Intel the board supports all current “Sandy Bridge” based CPUs and is capable of utilizing the integrated HD graphics included on the CPUs. ASUS of course does not sit on its laurels when it comes to designing motherboards, especially ones that receive the “deluxe” moniker.

On top of the standard H67 features, ASUS incorporates its usual bevy of upgrades from their other deluxe boards. Including BT GO! 3.0, an integrated Bluetooth adapter for connecting your Smart devices. Powered by Atheros, they also supply the Wireless connectivity with N-speeds up to 150MBps. GPU boost adds one button overclocking for the Intel HD graphics processor.

MemOK! is an ASUS feature that ensures any memory will boot in the system. EPU, Anti-Surge, EFI BIOS and FanXpert all provide stability and efficiency improvements. EZ Flash is a simple to use BIOS flashing tool that can be accessed via windows or the BIOS. Realtek audio with DTS surround licensing and four USB 3.0 ports (2 IO, 2 internal header) round out the improvements over a standard H67 board.

All of these features are shoehorned into an ITX form factor motherboard. For those that are not familiar with form factors, a standard motherboard (ATX) is 12” long and 9.6” wide and is capable of handling up to 7 expansion slots (PCI Express, PCI). Mini-ITX (or more commonly ITX) are only 6.7” long and wide and sport one expansion slot. Having integrated components on ITX motherboards is essential to providing a full desktop experience without having a dozen USB devices plugged into the back of the PC.
