With the fast paced environment we work in today and the more work done on computers, there is a need for bigger and bigger flash drives for some consumers. The Kingston HyperX 64GB is Kingstons fastest flash drive model to-date. It is built for speed and massive storage, for a flash drive that is. The HyperX comes in three models: 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB, with the price ranging from $182-$946. Yes, we said $946 for the 256GB flash drive – we had to double check this ourselves as well. Now, let’s see just how fast this little sucker is!

USB 2.0:
The USB 2.0 tests are just to show everyone that this can max out our USB 2.0, not that we thought it could not, but we like to be thorough. Nothing really to see here, unless you really love USB 2.0.
USB3.0:
WOW! Really Kingston? When Kingston put up the specs on their site of 225MBs read and 135MBs write, we kinda chuckled and thought it was wishful thinking. Now that we put it through our testing, we found out that our drive surpassed the specs on the website. We saw 225-232MBs read and 141-147MBs write speeds in our testing.
Conclusion:
There really is no denying that the Kingston HyperX is extremely fast, and since it is a flash drive, you can take it anywhere with you. With an MSRP of $182 for 64GB, you will definitely be paying more than the norm for a flash drive. However, in this instance you will actually be getting what you pay for, no doubt. Being able to hold up to 64GB of data makes it actually suitable for almost any job without the worry of it filling up quickly. There is not much else you can say, since it is just a flash drive. It works, it is crazy fast, and can fit in your pants pocket if need be.
