Final Thoughts and Conclusion
So there are probably some questions about the straying away from the encoding tests. The answer is: It would not be worth it to encode on this device. Yes you could; but, the CPU usage would be such that most – if not all – multitasking ability would be killed. If you were not planning to watch movies or do any nostalgic gaming for the evening – then sure – it would be doable. We would not do it.
There are a couple of items that need mentioning here and they are to do with the remote and Windows Media Center (WMC).
1. The remote is happiest with 1.5v batteries as mentioned at the beginning.
2. WMC can be a little slow when it comes to reaction time while on the internet. Pounding the buttons does not help this; WMC will respond in its own time.
It comes down to one thing – I guess. Would I personally buy this device for a friend or relative? Yes, I would as it is capable of doing most anything the average user does; save gaming. Would I buy one for myself? If I needed a device with its capabilities; YES!

shaun,
Because this system is at the bottom end of the specifications for the InfiniTV 4 USB I would have to say no it would not. This is based on the CPU processor and GFX. The device itself can stream to four devices and playback (probably capture as well) but working with the InfiniTV 4 USB may be an issue.
How would this computer do with a Ceton InfiniTV 4 USB? Would it be able to record 4 shows at once and still play back one without having problems?
