ICY DOCK MB882SP-1S-1B 2.5″ to 3.5″ SATA 6Gb SSD & Hard Drive Converter / Adapter / Bracket

First we look at the single drive converter and it is more than an adapter or rail mount 2.5 to 3.5 bracket. The packaging is clean with a clear view of the product.

The contents are two! The drive adapter and directions. Yes the directions are helpful because a little pressure is needed at times and the directions let you know you are not messing up.

The enclosure is well vented to keep your drive from getting unnecessarily hot.A desiccant pack is packaged inside of the unit to keep moisture from infiltrating the electronics and possible causing corrosion. The enclosure is fitted for a 2.5″ drive to slide into place. No wires to get in the way.Your drive simply drops in place and the lid is closed with a little pressure leaving you with a 3.5″ driveThe enclosure is SFF compliant allowing you to mount the MB882SP-1S-1B in any location that is compliant with standard SFF specifications for a 3.5″ drive.

The enclosure causes no bandwidth limitations and was tested for fit in an Icy Dock Blizzard and a Thermaltake BlacX 5G. There were no issues. In usage as a portable drive it adds a layer of protection against the elements and when used as an internal drive housing it keeps everything in its place while looking good for the windowed case crowd.

No functional deficiencies, strong construction and a functional design at a reasonable price… It does what it is supposed to and is just that much better than a rail adapter.

This drive enclosure can be found at NewEgg for 21.99 and other retailers starting at $16
