Strontium AUTO USB is a USB flash drive that is carefully designed for Car Audio System. With its small physical size, it provides extreme convenience to car owners as they carry their music, photos, videos and other data around with ease. Specially engineered plastic body, AUTO USB is not only able to withstand 40% higher in temperature as compared with other normal USB sold in the market. Being equipped with the latest COB (Chip on Board) and micro COB USB flash module, you can have fast and reliable data transmission to improve productivity in your daily data usage. Now, lets see how fast this USB drive actually is …

Speed Tests:

Before we start the speed tests we thought we should give you an accurate size description of the AUTO USB. It is sitting next to a quarter on our desk, which means this is a tiny USB stick.

In our speed tests we saw the AUTO USB was able to max out the USB 2.0 speeds on the read side at 29-29.1 MB/s. The write speeds were a little different coming in at a much slower 7.1-7.2 MB/s write speeds.

Conclusion:

After the dust settled from our testing we found out a few things from the AUTO USB. The Strontium AUTO USB does max out USB 2.0 with the read speeds, but the write speeds are slower, coming in at around 7MB/s. The chip on board was not able to be tested as none of our cars our friends cars had USB connections in their cars. If it does work as intended that will just be an added bonus.

Another thing to keep in mind, this AUTO USB stick has an MSRP of $10 which is a huge factor in buying flash drives. It is nice and cheap with great read speeds and average write speeds for other flash drives in the price range.

With the $10 price weighing heavily on our decision and the great read speeds, the Strontium AUTO USB stick receives the Techreaction.net Gold Silicon Award!
