Ballistic Tough Jacket iPad Case

The Ballistic Tough Jacket Series for the New iPad and iPad 2 is what we are tossing on the review bench for today. This case is three layers of the strongest protection on the market. A great feature in the Tough Jacket Series is Ballistic Corners™, which means all four corners have extra shock absorption where you need it the most! Also included with this case, is a front cover attachment that will help protect the screen during travel. The cover can be removed and placed on the back of your case and used as a kickstand for your new New iPad and iPad 2. Now, enough with the niceties and lets’ get down to business!

Packaging:

Specifications:

The Ballistic iPad Case:

Above are a few quick pictures to show the inner silicone layer and the impact resistant plastic. There are three color schemes for this case: black/black, red/black and white/black. Obviously we have the white/black version of this and it looks fantastic! You can see it fits very well around our iPad and the four big Ballistic Corners™ to help protect it from drops.

Usage:

Once everything is installed you can get a glimpse of the Ballistic case in action with the built-in stand it provides.  The kickstand provides a solid support for holding your iPad up while in use and then can easily be tucked away into the black protective shield when not in use. The stand is not adjustable though to give you different viewing angles, it is set to lock into one position. The polymer cover is a tough material protecting the screen when stored in a bag or any other time it is not in use.

Now that we are through the gallery shots, you should have noticed how nicely the Tough Jacket fits over the iPad. It does not impede any of the features on the our iPad. The camera still works perfect with no obstruction as well as the on/off button and volume buttons. The speaker is uncovered as well so there is no loss of sound while using the Tough Jacket either. The Tough Jacket looks great on our iPad and will be able to take the everyday bumps and dings while still keeping the iPad safe from damage.

Conclusion:

The Ballistic Tough Jacket is a great case and will be a great addition to our iPad for a long time to come. It has already proven its worth to us! During our testing we accidentally dropped our iPad off the desk while moving things around and because of the  Ballistic Corners™, we still have a functioning iPad and do not have to deal with the insane wait times at the Apple store.

The case has already paid for itself, and with an MSRP of $69.99 we would happily recommend it to any of our friends with iPad’s as well.

The Ballistic Tough Jacket earns the Techreaction.net Gold Silicon Award!
