Today we have another headset to put through the ringer, but not a gaming headset. We are switching it up a little here and giving you some variety. The THRONE Gold feature real leather headbands, complete with signature I-MEGO stitching, in-line microphone and adaptor cables compatible with all smart phones. The THRONE’s artistry mixed with technological innovation, tries to create new audio gear that delivers clear and heavy sounds with a sleek and stylish look. One-button music control with a microphone to take calls and control your music directly from your headphones. THRONE Gold is geared towards big bass for rock, R&B, or hip hop. Sooo we guess we will be gearing our testing to non-gaming and more music listening this time.
With the THRONE, you can see what else you will get with this package. You will have a nice carrying bag, as well as the adapter to fit the bigger connections.
A nice close up of the gold coloring on the headset and the synthetic leather ear pads.
The THRONE synthetic leather ear pads are more rectangle than round. This makes them a little less deep than the round are. You will need to align them correctly to get the most comfortable fit and minimal pressure on your ears.
The THRONE has a sliding headband that will let you fit it on almost any head size.
I-MEGO has stitched their name into the leather headband. This gives it a little better aesthetic look to it.
The soft underneath section of the headband (possibly microfiber) will keep extended usage times as comfortable as possible.

We will be testing the THRONE headset with several genres of music: rap, country and classical. We will also be watching a movie, Rambo, as well to round out the testing. The microphone will also be tested in this section with a quick phone call.
With the music testing, we tested several genres to get the best overall feel of how well the THRONE headset really performs. We started with the rap genre by listening to a few songs to figure out how accurate the bass is with the THRONE. Now the headset started showing its true beauty with the audio reproduction. The THRONE headset provided a deep bass that was one of the better reproductions we have heard in a headset in a while. Happy with our bass testing, we moved on with our testing and went to the best genre, country! The guitars and string instruments came through clear and had the impact on our ears that we were expecting. Even the raspy voices came through more “raspier” than ever and gave us the full enjoyment of their hard-partying life style, without actually being at the concert. Moving on to the classical music, we popped in one of the greats of all time, and no, not Beethoven. I am more a Tchaikovsky person myself. In the “1812 Overture,” the strings and wind instruments battle each other in the beginning, going back and forth. Everything is crisp with the highs and mids from the orchestra. There is no sound distortion when the volume is fully cranked up, and it sounds just as clear and crisp as it would at any other volume level.
For the movie portion of the review, we used “Rambo” circa 2009. We feel it gives you everything that you need to test the full capability of the headset with its huge explosions, surround sound fight scenes, quiet conversations and who can forget the .50 cal ending! Starting with the dialog, it’s clear and crisp in the quieter parts of the movie. The THRONE projected the dialog crisply, even during the fight scenes, such as when the village is getting attacked by the army. During the attack, while the village, and the lady doctor, are trying to get away, you can hear mortars exploding all around her. You can also hear all of the gunfire from the advancing army and can pick out what direction they are coming from in relation to the lady doctor. However, the best scene in an action movie, probably ever, is when good ol’ Sly jumps on the back of the truck and mans the .50 cal machine gun. When he is mowing down the army, the deep bass of the .50 cal is portrayed nicely though the THRONE. The sounds of the bullets striking objects was crisp with zero distortion, even when we turned the volume all the way up to soak in all of the goodness that the scene provides.
Testing the microphone was quick and easy. We made a call and they told us they heard us clean and crisp with no distortion from our end. This is good news for when you are walking around listening to music and get interrupted by a phone call.
With all our testing done, the I-MEGO THRONE headset was absolutely great! The overall look of the THRONE is a little unique and may take a little getting use to, but that is a small part of it. Once the headset is in use, you will find euphoria while listening to your music. The deep bass and crisp highs make an overall great listening experience. With the comfy headband, it will allow for hours of pain-free listening.
