i have a dlink dir-628 range boost draft N duel band. and i have 2 lan and 4 wireless.
the 628 is nice it uses the same proccessor as the gamers lounge and real routers and has full QPI support. it is only 100mb but u dont need gigabit for the internet. and it has USB for printing or NAS

Hmm, I have a basic modem/router that comes with every connection from my ISP here in France (it's an Inventel DV4210 customized specially for that ISP), it's quite a good router actually, but just not good enough for me, since it doesn't support VPNs nor WPA2-TKIP encryption.
So I jacked up a Cisco 877W-G-A-K9 ADSL Wireless Router from work (just kiddin' I didn't jack it though I did get it for free), so I'm using this one instead, it's obviously not meant for beginners but if you know your stuff and are after great security I really recommend it.
It's meant for small business offices but works like a charm for home use, as long as you know how to configure it properly. Only cons are that it doesn't support 802.11n, only b and g, but that's not much of an issue for me, and also since it's Cisco, well it's quite expensive. Other than that it features 4 LAN and 2 USB ports, as well as up to 10 VPNs should you need them.
Once everything was set up and configured as it should, did some penetration testing and it turned out that it resisted quite well to most of my attacks. And good luck to your neighbours hoping to crack the WPA2 encryption to get free WiFi
Still if you get somebody with enough knowledge to do it, just switch over to WPA2-AES and then he's done for.

Anybody still using WEP encryption nowadays ? Might as well use no encryption at all... Same goes for WPA-PSK, it's outdated and can be cracked though it still requires more knowledge than cracking a WEP 128bit key. That any 8 year old can do nowadays.

That's sick, do you own your own home?
Personally, I just have a Linksys WRT54GS v7 108G WiFi. Nothing special. WPA2 secured.

Yeap, it's my property ( surely if it wasn't mine, the owner would force me to buy it off him after seeing it :p ).
Just imagine, I call one of the rooms "Storage Room, Pile of Hardware" :p

Then you are a lucky man. Though it would take a simple reboot to change it, if you live in a quiet area, then you don't have much to worry about. I personaly live in a ski resort, and with all the tourists coming in and out, they're all trying to get free WiFi any way they can. :banghead:
@EnJoY: WPA2... ? PSK, TKIP or AES ? 1st is as secure as WPA-PSK which means almost not secure at all, second one is ok as long as there's no IT student in the neighborhood, and third one has yet to be cracked and is the best encryption you can get for an home wireless network nowadays (there are other ways to better secure your network but meh, unless you're working on some top secret stuff at home, you won't need it).
Anyway, if you're running WPA2-PSK, might wanna change that, but it's just my 2 cents

Ours is pretty simple:
- phone line in the kitchen plugs into our wall-mounted VoIP wifi router
- VoIP phone plugged into the router
- 4 PCs in the office, one in the laundry (fileserver) and HTPC in loungeroom all run off the router
- all running over 802.11G; will move to 'n' next time the router is upgraded; WPA2 encryption
Simple. Effective.

Motorola cable modem (thanks, RCN) -> 3Com OfficeConnect router -> 3Com OfficeConnect 16port switch -> my PC, Network Media Player, Netgear AP for downstairs (G) -> 1 hardline going upstairs to 8port Netgear switch -> 2 PC's in office -> Linksys AP (N) for upstairs/outside wifi -> Media Extender in living room
Wow to anyone who runs most or all Wireless setups. I've always had the WORST luck with wireless (dropouts, low signal, all that)

Secure Computing Router -> Apple Airport Extreme 802.11n -> 3 computers, PS3, and iPhone
The Airport Extreme has an external HDD hooked up to it with a crap load of movies and all of my tunes. All of the computers can access that and the PS3 accesses it through my homebuild which has media sharing on.

Time Warner Cable hooked up to a linksys router, 2 netbooks, 2 desktops, and an iTouch connected wirelessly, and 2 XBOX 360's, one hardwired to the router, and one wirelessly through my roommates PC. Sometimes we also hardwire our friends netbook and 360 as well.
