Personally i like NZXT the best but i used to have an awesome Aerocool Case, and i also like the Antec cases as well.

My next case will most likely be the NZXT. This thing just looks awesome and really well designed.

I prefer Cooler Master. I own a Stacker 830 SE and another Stacker 830 Nvidia Edition.

I like the gigabyte aurora cases. They are pretty cheap in price, but in quality and size they are very good for the price.

Silverstone makes some nice cases.

And obviously Lian Li, rip offs or otherwise ;).

I'm actually looking into buying a new case soon for my next build. So I'll be checking this thread out to see what people post as part of my research.

If we are talking before Mods, I would have to say Coolermaster (especially the HAF) My previous Antec 900 was an absolute dust vaccum in its factory shipped state. Lian Li's are meant to be class but you pay for that I guess.

For a modder there is nothing better than a Lian-Li, obviously they are my preffered choice for case modding. Lian-Li's are built with sturdy but minimal construction, they are very easy to work with and have so many possibilities.

I have been really impressed with coolermaster lately, their designs are getting better and better. Of course the TJ07 is a great choice, also its a friendly case for someone who doesnt want to mod

ASUS. hands down.

I prefer modding my own cheaper cases, cutting into a $200+ dollar case just does not appeal to me. And ALL cases no matter how expensive need fixing.

Having said that,

CoolerMaster Stackers FTW. Buy them banged up on ebay for cheap and fix them up sweet.

I am still using my NZXT Zero, only mod I did to that was for wire managment. runs VERY cool with up to 4 120mm fans in teh side panel blowing right on the hot components. I am not much for positive case pressure, but DAC (direct air cooling) definitly has its benefits.

My next project is a rocketfish case mod. (Top being modded for 120.3 rad) rear has already been modded for 2x120mm rear exhaust, wheels and handles always important. Side panel cooling will be added but probably not mounted in the side panel itself, rather something that is pre mounted inside the case.

EDIT: Did not even know ASUS made cases.

EDIT EDIT: Personally I would not recommend the Tempest though, it looks like any of a million case designs that has poor air management and can be bought for a lot less money.

ASUS. hands down.

Are you sure you meant Asus? I didn't think they made any cases.....

I prefer Cooler master and Antec... Relatively simple designs and good air flow mostly. They also fit my budget...

Did some googling and yah they do.

Only been able to find complete budget ones and uber garish alienware style cases though

Lian Li totally stole my heart with PC-A16B...
Simple. Hardly any plastic. Elegant brushed anodized black finish. No ugly fangrilles/windows on sides/top.

The only things I'd change in PC-A16B:
- make the mobo tray more rigid (make it out of thicker alu sheet or make fortifying depressions in it)
- ditch the plastic power/reset buttons and make them out of alu
- enlarge the reset button

I like the new Antec 1200 and 902's. I always heard people talk greatly of Lian Li's so I bought one last build and was not really impressed. It took way more money and modifications just to get it to cool almost as good as my Antec 900. You might look into the Antec 1200 or the HAF 932 as those would be my two choices for cases if I were to ever build a case again.

Here is one I would like to have a chance to mod but is stupidly overpriced.

Brand wise I would go with Lian Lis because they are so simple that you can fully put your own designs into it if done right. Of course it's also a expensive method because since they are so simple, you have to work on it in many parts and purchase many parts to install or replace to create the vision you want. Even if you says that you didn't spend alot on modifying a Lian Li, you most likely spent alot of time on it.

Work related would be Chieftec because the designs are good enough for work without distracting people too much on the job with a little here and there interesting concepts. Once in awhile, the company creates a new case with an cool idea and design. First was those HTPC cases and now this.

Too bad I felt bad for their USA marketing director during CES 08, poor guy was sad because he wasn't allowed to leave the booth to see the exibit and demos. He had no one else with him and no visitors came because their booth was in a crummy spot lol.

Another thing I like is random cases off a street curb. As ghetto as it may sound but they are great for modding since if you mess up, you didn't spend alot!

Wow that looks like a design I cam up with a few years ago, trying to develop a desktop PC that doubled as a monitor stand. With out taking up a lot of real estate.

Mine actual had the motherboard in Plexiglas and two monitor stands on either side of it that doubled as PSU and storage areas.

In order of preference:

Dimastech "easy"
Mountain Mods
CoolerMaster
Lian Li

EnJoY

Silverstone
Lian-Li

and now Corsair! :D

I like cases that are sleek, built well, and heavy with plenty of room for a triple radiator.

I really like Cooler Master cases for the price. I am using an NZXT case currently and it has excellent cooling but the cable management is really poor.

People! Gotta post explanations of the reasons why you like the brand, no need to be lazy :-p

Makes the thread worthwhile imo

Lian Li definitely. The rocketfish aka the rebranded Lian li is a modder's dream... technically a huge piece of blank canvas ;)

yah my NZXT Zero, only mod it needed was a hold cut in the back of the HDD cage, for wire management. Other than that it is perfect (and a lot better cooling than the 900 it replaced)

Out of all the cases I've used or had, the CM Stacker 830 is my fav with the CM Cosmos S as a close second.
