    Post Broke 4.4Ghz today. :)

I know 4Ghz is pretty standard these days but I always seem to have a stupid bottleneck of some kind.

I was capping around 3.8 Ghz since I got my current rig a few months ago, I decided it was a mobo limitation and left it at that. Well yesterday I got board and messed around with my QPI, lowered it from 8xx0 to around 2xx0. I was able to raise my fsb to 190 with no issue and was not able to make my computer fail in Prime.

I will push it farther sometime this week.

    Processor:
    i7 920 @ 4.1Ghz (1.26V) Motherboard:Asus P6TD Deluxe Cooling:Thermaltake Frio Memory:12Gb Kingston DDR3 1533Mhz 8-8-60-8 Video Card:AMD HD6970 Hard Disk:2x Seagate LP 2TB + Spinpoint F1 1TB

Edit: haha, I just checked the validation link, I clicked it when I was not under load with Speedstep enabled.
I decided to push farther though, see below.

My Bclock is at 195, I have done a lot of meddling and cannot get it stable at 200 unless I up my voltage and I am pretty happy sitting @ 1.26v.

My 3dmark scores are not bad though.

Hey, you being happy is what matters most when it comes to overclocks.

Beer drinking is like finger painting. When you are young, you do not care what you stick your fingers into as long as you got to do it. When you are older, eww Heineken? I really want a beer that comes from the factory skunked?

Really nice overclock, I could never get my 920 up above 4.2 but that was a C0 revision CPU too.

Hey, yeah its pretty close to 24/7 stable, my video card driver crashes sometimes (every few days if I let it run), but the cpu the rest seems good.

I ran it at 1.27v, my ram is clocked as low as it can go, (so around 1300mhz) Multiplayer is at 20. My ram is 1066mhz, so it limits what I can do. If I let my ram run at 1600mhz it is not 24.7 stable and has hard crashes, the ram also wants more than 1.6v to go over 16000mhz, and I hear that is bad for mycpu.
I am also running the cpu @ 1000mv.

Over 1.6 is fine if you increase VTT to keep within .5volts of it. IE 1.6 RAM = 1.1 VTT

VTT might need to be increased anyway to run faster RAM.

I will keep that in mind and up my VTT the next time I push my OC, that could be why it crashes when I am running around 1600mhz for a while.
