Any fans you would recommend putting on the heatsink?
Have not purchased heatsink or CPU yet.
I heard the Venomous X was a good heatsink, but does it cool a fair amount better then the Megahalems?
Going with an i7 920 with a Prolimatech Megahalem heatsink.
They should go together nicely i hope.
As for video card, im reusing my 4870 512MB card.
Timings are 7-7-7-24, 1.65v and run at 1333mhz.
Each stick is a total of 2GB so its a 6GB kit.

Well if you or anyone has any 1366 i7 CPU or DDR3 memory laying around, i'll be glad to take it off your/there hands.:D
Was really eager to get the board. So i got it, the waiting doesn't bother me to much. I just wanted to have the foundation of the X58 build first and build upon that.
Wow, thats a great looking PSU.
I don't need that much wattage tho.
Haven't been on TR in a long while, but i truly do love this site. Very friendly people and very fun place to be. It's really just a combination of both the great community and the very knowledgeable...
Sadly, i can't get the Core i7 and 6GB of DDR3 RAM till about 2 months or so. So right now the board is just sitting in its plastic molding and inside the box sitting on the floor until then.:(

Looks very nice.:)
I was thinking about getting one myself.
Nice, and ya i play with a headset.
Thinking about getting a Sapphire HD 4890 and i would like to know how hot does it get when gaming and how loud, i hear the 4890's are pretty loud and my CPU fan is already loud when gaming so i...
You shouldn't hate Live cause you did a bad thing, its what their supposed to do.
Finished the first Bioshock and i can't wait for this one to be out.:)
When was the board purchased Snipe?
680i's now a days aren't as bad as they were at launch. As i said most of the problems were caused by OCing on the board, not saying if you don't OC there...
All tech forums are fine by me, TPU is the site i frequently go on.
OCing on 680i boards can be terrible i do agree with that, and i think that's where the problem lies. It's messes up when OCing, but at stock it runs like a charm. Thats why i recommended in the last...
The earlier Nvidia made chipsets had a ton of problems, if you buy one now chances are it should be a good one. I bought my 680i board a long while back and it still has been going strong. The...
Love my OCZ Stealthxstream 600w PSU. Been holding up well in gaming and what not for some time now. I would like to try a Corsair PSU tho, as i hear good things about em.
I really only go Nvidia because i have a 680i board, so it helps me out if i want a little performance boost and i want to use SLI, i can already have a Nvidia card in there to work with.
I have...
lol at the messed up box, looks like they kicked it around a little. Glad they weren't damaged.:beerchug:
