Through a blog post published yesterday, Miki Sandorfi, Chief Strategist, File and Content Services at Hitachi Data Systems has confirmed that the storage company has bought the IP and hired the core engineering team of ParaScale.

ParaScale, a start-up developing software to create, manage and power cloud storage solutions, is set to provide its cloud expertise and technology and help enhance Hitachi's cloud offering.

"By complementing our existing product set and leveraging the distinct capabilities of this acquisition, we will continue to bring to market additional Hitachi Cloud Services that leverage best-of-breed technology and are deployed in 'cloudy' ways," said Sandorfi.

Hitachi didn't say anything about the money paid to secure ParaScale's services.
