The Tourist - movie

The Tourist turned out to be a lot better than I thought it was going to be. Although, I did not have very high hopes all going into it. Johnny Depp was great with his quirky acting and good quick zingers. If you like him as an actor, you will like him in this as well. Angelina was pretty good, but I have never thought she was a great actor or anywhere near the level of Johnny Depp. She does a solid job with her role however, and looked good.

The movie mostly took part in Venice, which was a great scenery experience during the movie. Great looking buildings and all the canals was fun to look at. The movie however did seem to come up short on the story. It had a great story line, but I felt they needed to spend more time developing the story and explaining a few more things. It was around a 2 hour movie, but I would not have minded it being 2 ½ hours or so if they would have gone more in depth into the story. It really seemed that once the action started it was all really fast and then all the sudden it was over. It did have a pretty good twist in the movie which I did not catch on to until it was almost over. Once you figure it out, then you will understand why things happened that happened and it makes a little more sense.

Overall, if you like the actors you should like the movie. You may not love it or want to see it more than once, but it is at least watchable and somewhat entertaining. Like I said above, I just wish they discussed the back story a little more in depth. I would say if you end up at the movies and everything else you wanted to see is sold out, this would be a good replacement. Otherwise, I would say that this is a rental for a movie night at home.
