Replacing HTPC's
In my effort to save money and energy I will be eliminating 2 HTPC's.
I decided to convert from megavideo to Netflix. I can use the Wii to stream and it works well. I don't sit close enough to the TV to notice if it is SD or HD so HDMI is irrelevant. My living room HTPC will be put in the mothball fleet and simply used for testing as a baseline system.
I am replacing the PC in the entertainment/play room with my PS3, also netflix. I will be looking for another Wii for another room in the house (perhaps 2) to go with a pair of 27" Tube televisions I have.
Here is my question. Will netflix run well on a 360 that has no HDD (http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/Prod...oduct_id=43323)
People that buy OEM systems think Linux was a Charlie Brown character, a registry is something you see at target to buy shower gifts, RAM is a Dodge truck and a hard drive is DC at rush hour.
Current Active Fleet:
Daily Driver - Phenom II X4 @ 3.6, 8GB Ram, 890GX GFX Bedroom PC - Athlon II X4 @ 3.6, 8GB Ram, 790GX GFX
Entertainment Room HTPC & Madia/File Server - Pentium G6950 @ 3.5, 4GB Ram, On Chip GFX Living Room HTPC - i5 661 @3.7, 10GB Ram, 6770 GFX
Entertainment Room Cinema - Brazos E350, 4GB Ram, On Chip GFX (Projector) Game Rig - i5 2500K @ 4.5, 12GB Ram, 465GTX + 9800GT (PhysX) using intel SRT

I'm scruffy.

After some intense google research, apparently you do NOT need a hard drive in the 360 to stream Netflix.

That is what I came up with as well and the fact that the Wii has no HDD is a plus in my favor. I just wondered if anyone here had any personal experience with it.
I also wonder about heat generated by the BOX.

I honestly think the TV has a lot to do with that. I have an Olivia TV and honestly it looks great with 480i up to 1080p. I know what you are talking about though. My in laws have a Samsung and 480i looks like crap on it. The 1080p seems like it is a tad better up close though.
