No worries mate. I see your successful joining of the team on the WCG team page. It will take you a validated result, only one, to show up on the Free-DC stats page. This can take a day or two depending on who is/are your quorum partner(s). Some projects have multiple other persons who have to turn in the same WU (Work Unit) you just crunched. The system then will assign a score based on the particular algorithm that project is using.
The key now is just keep crunching. Do it from now until the end of August, at least, and you'll be be in for the contest prize. Of course, by then you will become part of the furniture around here and you won't be able to stop crunching if you tried. 16 or more dedicated crunching rigs will be soon to follow....Warn your other half and your credit card company.....
BTW, what hardware did you place on the team? Just curious. If you dropped an i7 rig you could be owning the cherry pie here.....Let us know so you can get the most out of it...
I'm running a single old Q6600 Kents quad. Only clocked at 3.4 gig or so. Naokaji has something a bit better, but not an i7....

Bob

I'm running a q6600 as well @ 3.825ghz. My mobo is holding me back on my overclock :/ I am tempted to buy a p45 from someone but it seems like a waste of time for less then 200 mhz 24/7.
3.8Ghz on air is very impressive for that CPU. Mine ran 4,1Ghz on phase 24/7 but I had the same problem as you, mobo held me back.
I don't think it's worth changing mobos, just keep this one for a while then maybe jump the Core i5 train.

It's under water.
And as for upgrades.
AMD... those 955's look pretty sexy and I like the single am3 platform. If I went intel I would want the 920 or similar.
Still impressive, those Q6600's are hot mofos
Nothing compared to i7 though, but i7 is stable at 80C still so not really easy to compare. generally you need more and more cooling capacity...

OMG! all of you are OC your rides... mine is in stock![]()
Sorry for my english =)
Why can't you OC it? Just do it.....
Oh, and when do I see points grrrr!!! I finished 2 of the tasks that were on 2 cores so far. Do I get a point for each or something?
How exactly does this point system work -_-
Don't worry, I'll stay with it. It's fun knowing my comp is doing something productive.
Congrats
Now just be careful with the addiction factor![]()
I have to say I am impressed at how I hardly notice it running...
If it wasn't for the heat output I would probably not notice it at all if it was secretly installed.
I'm just waiting on the power bill ^.^
Also, I am wondering how does the point system work. Is it /task or something? And how often does the site that keep track of points refresh?
edit: Oh yea, I'm a piece of the pie now.

Firewall and Port Forwarding...
I can see there is an option you are able to open port through firewall, but I am just wondering if anyone has really done it and if it actually does make a difference for communication with the program with BOINC? I just setup'd BOINC last night, so still in progress of learning how these stuff work and run smoothly
I am still learning with all these F@H and stuff, hope to put my efforts in to help TR and WCG
